Vinco Inc. (Vinco) offers practical exams for the National Wireless Safety Alliance (NWSA) Telecom Tower Technician 1 & 2 (TTT-1 & TTT-2) certification. These standardized tests are required by some carriers and tower owners, and verify that the individual has the knowledge and skills to perform tower work in the Telecom industry. An NWSA certification is valid for 5 years after completion, but does not replace Tower Safety and Rescue or Rigging certifications.

 

Please note that Vinco only offers practical exams. A separate computer-based test is also required to achieve certification and must be scheduled separately with one of the NWSA approved testing providers. Fees charged by the computer-based testing provider are not included in the fees charged by Vinco for the practical exams.

 

Practical Exams offered:

TTT-1 - An individual who can safely perform tasks on telecommunication sites under direct supervision. (Practical exam time limit is 120 Minutes, and one person at a time.)

           TTT-1 Exam Cost- $600/person - includes the $100 NWSA Application Fee

TTT-2 - An individual who can safely perform tasks on telecommunication sites and is capable of supervision of TTT-1 technicians and trainees. (Practical exam time limit is 90 minutes, and one person at a time.)

            TTT-2 Exam Cost- $600/person - includes the $100 NWSA Application Fee

All applicants must provide documentation verifying that they have a current Tower Climbing and Rescue certification.

Vinco can perform up to 3 exams per day (7am, 10am and 1pm). Applicants are expected to arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled exam time, and have their Candidate Application Form fully completed, which can be downloaded from the NWSA website in the link below.

Candidates that fail to show up or do not have their Candidate Application Form filled out will lose their exam slot. They will be rescheduled to a later date, and may result in added costs for missing the exam slot.

 

Location: 
Vinco will provide NWSA Exams at our Hugo, MN location. Address will be given to the candidate at the time they schedule their exam.

 

Required Equipment

Candidates are required to bring the following equipment to the practical examination. All equipment must be current and in good working order.

           Full Body Harness (ANSI Z359 compliant)
           Twin Leg Fall Arrest Lanyard (ANSI Z359 compliant)
           Positioning Device
           Gloves (required for TT2, optional for TT1)
           Hard Hat (ANSI Z89 compliant)
           Work Boots
